The record is back in stock at I just grabbed my copy.
There was a repress recently and I only just added this to my collection. I like both tracks, but I think I prefer the jazzy vibes on the A-side.
The latitude and longitude coordinates on the runout etching side b are from a place in Cancun, Mexico !?!
It is actually the ofices of Double Standards, Berlin, a creative design agency and record label (among other things) rellated to Perlon
felt boot
It's the location for the afterparty...!
i hardly can believe that this record is limited to 300 pieces. don´t know, where this information comes from. until now 182 people added it to their collection here. not every collector has a discogs account or adds everything. i bet, in some weeks there are listed much more than 300. this is a very strange phenomenon.
The original run was limited to 300 copies, but Perlon then issued a second pressing, probably with many more copies available. Perhaps there should be a separate entry for the non-limited pressing. For now though, I'm adding my second edition pressing to my collection since this is the only listing on Discogs.
Probaly "limited" to 700 or 1000 copies :-)
I am certain many people "add this to their collection" even if they only have a pirated copy. Makes for misleading stats.
:) right!
Great record like stated by others. I just want to add that Two Kids Set Off uses samples coming from interviews and/or phonecalls concerning the events that took place in Columbine High School ( You can find the samples pretty easily on internet. The main sample "Two Kid Set Off" comes from an interview with a fellow student who explains how at first nobody exactly knew what was happening until the students came to realise that 2 kids had entered the building and were shooting other kids randomly. You can also hear police phonecalls, however, I can't verify that these are related to the same event.I'm maybe overinterpreting all of this, but it is well-known that Ricardo isn't exactly a real 'US fan' and maybe this can be seen as some kind of a protest track against the American fire arm law... or maybe he just used the samples to make a badass track. And keeping in mind that we as music lovers sometimes like so find a meaning which in fact is just not there, I think the latter is true ;-) Great tracks, stuff to remember!
I think a vocal sample from "Two kids set off" is taken from the Blade Runner movie."Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave." is a quote by Roy Batty, before his final speech in the movie.
Fantastic and shady limited release by the Minimal Dr. Villalobos. Track A starts out with his signiture rolling percussion, but quickly drops in some great melodic keyboard work. Phantom synth pads and reverberating tones space out into the mix and create a sonic collage of haunting proportions. Track B is a prescription in chilling beats and samples. The samples hint of people confessing to an uncouth situation where eventually "Two kids set off". There is also a science fiction aspect to it that is realized by some droning tonality, robot like voices and a sample stating "please stand by". Slightly on the dark tip, but definitely on the psychedelic trip, this EP gives fans of Ricardo a run for their money. Great material and the limited fashion of this being pressed at 300 copies makes it a joy to own and spin.
Are you saying that you do not have additional enjoyment with something when you know it is limited and coveted? I do, and there is nothing wrong with that. I take care of my records and have many limited items in my collection. It is simply part of the fun.
I have to completely desagree with your last sentence. How can you have more joy spinning this record because there are only 300 copies? Rate the music for what it is. If it makes you feel special well I guess you are not in really for the music in the first place. And yes I own the record. And yes I love it. But no it's was a really dumb move for Zip to take that route.
Dont pay these prices from these idiots!! just spoke to a few record shops and they have ordered more copies so there will be more coming at normal retail price :)
This discogs prices are what happen when you put "perlon" + "ricardo villalobos" +"limited" in the same sentence. They knew this will happen. They should have put on the limited run another not so famous perlon guy and release the villalobos part 4 without all this bullshit. At the end of the day is the true lovers/fan/collectors/djs that get screwed.
i just recieve my copy from hardwax today for 10 f.... euros
on hardwax it's out of stock
they still have "store only copies"
Buyed at perlon pop shop in berlin one week ago for 10 euro. you kill vinyl whit those prices
great record, perfect ltd. edition.
£61, honestly? Whoever is doing this should be ashamed of themselves, it's like ten euros if you live in Berlin, and it's not even thaaat great in comparison to the rest of the album.
is this a fake?
Absolulty not! It's a special Ltd out only at "perlon pop-Shop" in berlin! (In My opinion a really good record!! Must have)
Perlon you are tearing me apart
Is this real?
No chance to get it anywhere else... sometimes?? Maybe after the closing of the shop?
still released but only in the perlon pop shop!
Of course it is, only in Berlin Perlon's shop
Yes. It's the fourth part of Ricardo's dependant and happy on Perlon. The record is currently being sold at the Perlon pop up shop in Berlin, and it won't be sold anywhere else.
Yes. And if they finally dont release this to a more wider audience, then it's a kick in the butt to all perlon and ricardo villalobos lovers around the globe. Come on this is part 4 of rv album!
Yes. Exclusively available at the Perlon Pop-Up Shop Berlin.
